Eimear McBride

Eimear McBride was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018.

Eimear McBride’s first novel, A Girl is a Half-formed Thing, was written when she was 27 and took nine years to find a publisher. It was finally picked up by Galley Beggar Press and received the inaugural Goldsmiths Prize, the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year, the Desmond Elliott Prize and the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. Her second novel, The Lesser Bohemians, won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Prize, the RSL Encore Award and the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year.
