Elected: 2026
Ted Hodgkinson is Head of Literature and Spoken Word at the Southbank Centre, Europe’s largest arts centre and the home of the National Poetry Library and London Literature Festival. Since taking up the role he has launched new initiatives, from the New Poets Collective to Indie Night, which champions independent publishing. A former Chair of judges for the International Booker Prize (2020), he is a trustee of both English PEN and New Writing North.
Fellows are nominated by peers and elected by our Council of writers – our governing Board. Being elected a Fellow of the RSL is a lifetime honour. This role gives them the opportunity to support other writers, readers and the future of literature. The RSL connects writers in the Fellowship to one another, and to a wider readership.
