Ankhi Mukherjee is Professor of English and World Literatures at Oxford. She is the author of several monographs, including the award-winning Unseen City: The Psychic Lives of the Urban Poor and What Is a Classic? Postcolonial Rewriting and Invention of the Canon. Her innovative ideas on the role of literature and the interpretive humanities in creating a more egalitarian psychoanalysis have been showcased in literary festivals and online public platforms. Mukherjee’s essays and reviews have appeared in the LARB, the New York Times, Public Books, the Conversation, and Scroll, among others.
