Patrice Lawrence is a Brighton-born writer of prize-winning books for children and young people. Her debut, Orangeboy, was shortlisted for the Costa Children’s Award and won the Bookseller YA Prize and Waterstones Prize for Older Children. She has won the Crimefest YA Award twice, the Woman and Home Teen Drama Book Award, the inaugural Jhalak Prize for Children and Young People, and has been shortlisted for the Yoto Carnegie Medal. She was awarded an MBE for literature in 2021.
