Patrick Ness is the award-winning and bestselling author of the Chaos Walking trilogy, now a major motion picture. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed novels A Monster Calls, More Than This, The Rest of Us Just Live Here, Release, And the Ocean Was Our Sky and Burn. He has won every major prize in children’s fiction, including the Carnegie Medal twice. He has also written the screenplay for the film of A Monster Calls and Class, the BBC Doctor Who drama. His latest book Different for Boys came out in March 2023.
Fellows are nominated by peers and elected by our Council of writers – our governing Board. Being elected a Fellow of the RSL is a lifetime honour. This role gives them the opportunity to support other writers, readers and the future of literature. The RSL connects writers in the Fellowship to one another, and to a wider readership.
