Tade Thompson is a writer of novels, short stories and screenplays in addition to being a full time consultant psychiatrist. He is best known for Rosewater and The Murders of Molly Southbourne, both of which have been optioned for adaptation. He has won the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the Nommo Award, the Kitschies Golden Tentacle Award, the Utopiales Award, and the Julia Verlange Award among others. Born in London to Yoruba parents, he lives on the South coast of England.
Fellows are nominated by peers and elected by our Council of writers – our governing Board. Being elected a Fellow of the RSL is a lifetime honour. This role gives them the opportunity to support other writers, readers and the future of literature. The RSL connects writers in the Fellowship to one another, and to a wider readership.
