4 am leyton, empty Francis rd (with mermen)

Been taking lots of walks in the middle of the night. The city tastes different at night, has a surrealness to it.

savour this moment
of disbelief the earth
is dull and overheated
night is a leather
glove on your skin
the fumes of the city
pickle your body
half-salmon queen
half-pike boy
half-perch babe
i get you
life cropped you
from perfect blues
now these purplish hues
seethe inside you
the moon is a flea bite
swollen you’re dancing
wildly stomping your fins
to bone to slivers
