This is a short poem reflecting on the passage of time for all in and out of lockdown ; of those admitted for Covid; and those waiting for vaccination. I wrote this in the hospital, looking after my child and listening to the beeping machines through the nights.

Between the fall
And falling again
Between just specks
And specks again
A momentary form
Of having existed.

Time.

Between the beeps
And beeping again
Between medicines
Gushing in veins again
A momentary pause
Of having rested.

Sleep.

Between the noise
And noise again
Between two jabs
Breath of hope again
A momentary hesitation
Of having trusted.

Covid.
