The Encore Award Book Club
Patrick McGuinness won the 2020 Encore Award with his novel Throw Me to the Wolves (Jonathan Cape). This is the 30th year of the Award, which is given to the best second novel of the year.
As a 2020 judge, author Nikita Lalwani commented ‘Throw Me to the Wolves is a novel that is saturated with small truths, tiny gems of knowing that linger and provoke long after putting the book down. A beautiful, haunting thriller.’
Nikita and RSL Director Molly Rosenberg will lead an interactive book club on Zoom. Participants are invited, but not required, to keep their video on and contribute to the discussion, and there will also be a moderator relaying comments from the Chat function.
We are grateful to Crickhowell-based independent bookshop Book-ish for supporting a book-and-ticket option, including UK postage. Throw Me to the Wolves is available in hardback, and the paperback will be published on 28 August.
