Three RSL Fellows each give a talk as part of the Late Evening of the British Academy’s biennial Literature Week, this year exploring adaptations and transformations. The evening consists of multiple talks, performances and workshops celebrating literature ‘off the page’. Playwright and screenwriter Helen Edmundson has adapted numerous books for the stage, including Anna Karenina, Coram Boy and Swallows and Amazons. Deborah Moggach is the author of eighteen novels including The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Her acclaimed screen adaptations include The Diary of Anne Frank and Pride and Prejudice. Timberlake Wertenbaker is a playwright and screenplay writer whose works include Our Country’s Good, and adaptations of Euripides’ Hippolytus, Racine’s Phèdre and Sophocles’ Antigone.
The British Academy’s full programme for the evening will be online in April 2017.
