In 'Turn Turn Turn', a conversation between Ali Smith and Marina Warner provides the score to a specially commissioned film by Sarah Wood. To explore Ali Smith’s luminous quartet of novels, completed this year, Sarah Wood has asked both writers to choose images and figures from the last months of isolation. As the Solstice approaches, winter draws in and we move closer to a new year, we all need to explore the revolutionary art and artists who can return the imagination to us, light up these dark times, and open possibilities for a new way forward.

Join the RSL for this unique event, streamed live for one showing only on 14 December at 7pm

Ali Smith is the author of many works of fiction, including, most recently, Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer.  She is a preeminent advocate of literature and the arts.

Marina Warner is a writer of fiction, criticism and history; Forms of Enchantment: Writings on Art and Artists came out in 2028; Inventory of a Life Mislaid, a memoir, will be published next spring.

Sarah Wood is an award-winning artist and filmmaker. She works with the found object, particularly the still and moving image, as an act of reclamation and re-interrogation. She works mainly with the documentary image to interrogate the relationship between the narrating of history and individual memory.
