In All The Houses I've Ever Lived In: Finding Home in a System that Fails Us, Kieran Yates looks into the stories behind our interiors, finding beauty in a broken system, friendships in cramped housing, and home even in the most fragile circumstances.

Speaking of friendship, Emma and Kieran are old friends who wrote these two books in tandem. Join them to reflect not only on the finished products but the process.

Emma Warren has been documenting grassroots music culture for decades. She is the author of Make Some Space: Tuning into Total Refreshment Centre, which was listed as one of the top ten books of 2019 by Mojo and was re-released by Chicago record label International Anthem. Her pamphlet Steam Down: Or How Things Begin was published by Rough Trade Books and was listed as an Irish Times read of the year. She published Document Your Culture in Spring 2020. Emma was a founding contributor to Jockey Slut magazine, worked on staff at The Face and worked as the editorial mentor at youth-run Brixton publication Live Magazine. Her monthly radio show on Worldwide FM ran for six years.

Kieran Yates is a London-based journalist, broadcaster and editor who has been writing about culture, technology and politics for over 10 years. She’s written everywhere from The Guardian, FADER, VICE, The Independent and beyond, had an acclaimed monthly column at VICE titled ‘British Values’, was nominated for Culture Writer of the Year in 2016 and regularly host events and panels discussing issues across music, politics, and news. Kieran’s book about home and the housing crisis titled All The Houses I’ve Lived In, will be published in April by Simon and Schuster.
